3 Tips to Develop Belief in Yourself
Belief is the juice that makes your engine go.
If circumstances around you appear to get to hell, or if people around you criticize you, question you or offer terrible, fear-based advice, your belief in self supersedes these outside conditions, helping you progress despite appearances of regression, lack and scarcity.
I am writing these words from a tiny Thai village because I believed in me. I did not believe in past struggles more than I believed in me. I did not believe in naysayers or folks who suggested I get a job when my blog grew slowly more than I believed in me.
I believed in me. Nothing could stop me from living my dreams because I trusted my intuition when things outside of me appeared to suggest otherwise.
If you want to develop belief in yourself follow these 3 tips.
1: Surround Yourself with Loving People
I immediately gobbled up Jeannie’s gracious offer to guest post on her rocking blog.
She is a loving human being and awesome friend.
Loving people pick you up when your self-belief may be flagging. Loving people teach you how to believe in you.
Most importantly, loving people act predominantly from a place of love (not fear), and since the only reason why you would stop believing yourself is by buying into fear, these folks rarely if ever buy into fear along with you.
2: Feast on Inspired Resources
My fave resource for cultivating belief in self:
Find resources like:
Feast on these resources. Develop belief in self by filling your mind with images that bolster this belief.
ACIM teaches this core fundamental: only love is real, and fear doesn’t exist.
First glance? Sounds batty; right? But meditating on this truth has allowed the idea to seep deeply into my consciousness so it began to bleed through my being.
Why would I lack belief in self if only love is real? I am surrounded by love. Fear is illusory.
So I simply believe in me over the illusions of fear – frightened people, circumstances, etc – and trust myself.
3: Follow an Energy Management Ritual
On waking I meditate for 20 minutes.
I do 40 minutes of yoga later in the day.
I read a paragraph from ACIM and meditate on it.
I also exercise for 45 minutes or longer daily.
Managing your energy helps you do more from love (truth) and less from fear (illusion).
You will rarely doubt yourself if you do things from love because doubt is fear and fear is illusory.
Raise your belief in self. Manage your energy. See fear-ghosts arise and disappear immediately. Return to a state of love, harmony and self-belief.
